A Frontiers in Psychology study of 7,704 employees at a large U.S. healthcare organisation found that fully remote employees reported the highest levels of well-being. Connection to colleagues and workplace culture did not differ significantly across work arrangements.
That does not mean remote work is automatically better for every role or team. It does challenge the habit of treating physical presence as a proxy for culture, trust or commitment.
The better leadership question is not only “Where are people working?” but “How are they communicating, building trust and creating together?”
